The PFB Awards are an annual celebration of all independent podcasting and we cater to the diverse and rapidly expanding podcast industry by awarding achievement in a set of podcast categories using an expert led judging process.

The awards are open to all podcasters from all cultures, backgrounds and niches

KEY RULES

If your podcast is currently live and you launched it before 31st December 2021 you are eligible to enter. You must have created and published a minimum of 6 episodes .

The entry you submit should be one that best highlights the great work you do. You’ll also submit background information for your podcast. This is where you can demonstrate success in the form of stats, reviews, listener comments/emails, social media etc…

CATEGORIES

There are 13 categories you can enter plus an additional award, The Listener’s Choice Award.

You may enter your podcast in up to 3 categories that you think are relevant. 

The Listeners Choice Award is voted for by podcast listeners.

ENTRY FEE

There is a nominal £7 fee to enter your podcast into the awards to keep it as affordable as possible.

All entry fees are invested back into the awards. There is no payment for the judges for their work.

RULES

In the Podcasting for Business Awards, we’re looking for shows that really celebrate the podcast medium. Programmes that create quality, episodic content enjoyed by their subscribers and listeners.

QUALIFYING PERIOD

  • Episodes can be submitted from podcasts anywhere in the world. If your podcast is currently live and you launched it before 31st December 2021 you are eligible to enter. You must have created and published a minimum of 6 episodes .and

  • Entrants must have a minimum of 6 episodes. This is because we want to highlight great consistent shows rather than one off or short run works.

  • If you don’t qualify this year, because of timings, you will next year! Please still support the awards by voting in the Listener’s Choice award that opens up on the 24th January and telling people about us!

ENTRY SUBMISSIONS

  • Episodes from the entries must have been available to download via RSS from the qualifying period.

  • Episodes entered to the awards must be available now until the end of March 2022.

  • Entries should be in English.

  • It would help if you keep hold of the original recording in .wav ideally as we may ask you for this later.

  • You may enter your podcast into no more than three relevant categories. Choose categories that best reflect your podcast and will help you find new audiences.

  • Written submissions should be no more than 250 words.

  • Each nominee agrees to provide the Podcasting for Business Awards with non-exclusive rights to present submissions in their entirety or in part, to promote the awards on the website and social media.

  • If copyrighted content forms part of the entry, details of relevant agreements should be mentioned in your written submission.

  • Judges decisions are final.

BEST HEALTH & WELLBEING PODCAST

Showcasing the best self-help and improvement podcasts focussing on positive mental and physical health. Your entry should show how you handle health issues with compassion, and/or provide tools for listeners to use in their own lives.

BEST MARKETING PODCAST

Celebrating the very best Marketing podcasts that demonstrate creativity and new approaches to marketing as well offering helpful support and advice to business owners in how they might market their businesses effectively.

BEST ENTREPRENEURSHIP PODCAST

Inspiring the next generation of CEOs. You might be showcasing stories of leadership, or helping listeners with finances or productivity. As will all of the categories, we’re looking for podcasts that reflect diversity of ideas and backgrounds. The best entries will be fresh and inclusive.

BEST HOME & LIFESTYLE PODCAST

This category is for the very best and most inspirational home and lifestyle shows. Does your podcast show real life ways of managing a busy home and life or inspire your listeners to improve aspects of their lifestyle? This one's for you!

BEST NEW PODCAST

This category is open to all topic areas and themes. Our judges will be looking for shows that show improvement in style and delivery. You might also be able to show where you new podcast has had an impact on your listeners or a group of people.

BEST DIVERSITY & INCLUSION PODCAST

This category is for you if your show champions underrepresented groups or seeks to educate their listeners in diversity and/or inclusivity topics. Judges will be looking for the host to be dedicated to amplifying the voices of these groups.

BEST COMEDY PODCAST

Don’t confuse this with the entertainment category. This one is for podcasts that aren’t just funny but have inside jokes too. Entries can be from panel shows, parody and entirely new formats. Judges will be looking for the show that made them laugh the most!

BEST INTERVIEW PODCAST

This category incorporates interview formats across all topics. Your guests could be famous or just really interesting. We want the judges to find the most compelling conversations produced this year.

BEST LOCKDOWN PODCAST

This category celebrates the shows that have tackled how difficult this past year has been with insight and compassion or how well they’ve entertained or distracted their listeners.

This is for new shows or existing shows that pivoted their focus to get their audience through a tough year.

BEST FAMILY PODCAST

A category that recognises the shows that entertain kids with great story telling, facts and funny jokes.

Or, parenting podcasts that deal with the reality of being a parent and give fresh insights into family lives.

BEST ENTERTAINMENT PODCAST

If you make your listeners happy, provoke thought or provide escapism this is the category for you. The best entries here will be eclectic, interesting, fun and inclusive. We’ve included some more information on each category below.

BEST EDUCATION PODCAST

Celebrating podcasts that aim to educate and support their listeners. Your podcast may be about any one of a large number of topics. Self help, How to for example. Does your show aim to break down difficult topics into easily digestible listens? This one’s for you then!

BEST FICTION PODCAST

This category incorporates drama, readings, new formats and true crime. 

Outstanding entries in this category will use production that suits the story and acknowledges an audience of headphone users. New writing will be looked for by judges.

LISTENERS CHOICE AWARD

Our public poll involves you getting your listeners to vote for you, for free on our website. Thousands of people are expected this year to support their favourite podcast and the shows with the most passionate fans will do the best. Will it be you?

Votes open for this category on the 24th January and close on the 31st January.

 

JUDGES

All categories are decided by a panel of judges representing podcasters, authors, business owners, producers and listeners.

Judges will be looking for unique and interesting listens that excel in their niche.

Recognition will be given to entries that offer new perspectives, formats and presentation or that give a voice to those underrepresented in other media.

PHOEBE WINTER

Phoebe has 20 years’ experience of presenting and producing content for radio and podcasts. Currently, Phoebe is a freelance Audio Editor for numerous podcasts and Head of Production at Cameo, an audio production house. She creates high-quality film-based audio press kits and technically produces interviews with A-list film clients along with attending junkets and premieres where she interviews the stars themselves, such as Keanu Reeves, Cate Blanchett and Jack Black to name a few. She was also a producer and presenter at Planet Rock, a breakfast show host on ARA City Radio in Luxembourg and she started her radio career at Total Rock. She is a music and film geek and loves a live gig!

 

RUTH KUDZI

Ruth Kudzi is an advanced ICF coach, business mentor, coach trainer, best selling author and podcaster.

She is a Psychology & Neurosicence geek who has spent 25 years studying these subjects and now trains coaches to develop their coaching skills and become certified. 

Ruth is equally a well-respected business and mindset coach and has worked with 1000s of clients worldwide helping them to create businesses that feel aligned and successful. 

She has written a best selling book and has hosted two top podcasts, she is regularly featured in the press including Psychologies, Woman & Home, The Metro, Business Insider, Vogue, Good Housekeeping and The Guardian. 

Ruth’s company, Optimus Coach Academy provides industry leading coach training for individuals and businesses. “We work with everyone from brand new coaches providing in depth and thorough training to businesses who want to upskill their teams”. 

 

LEYLA OKHAI

Diverse Minds was founded by Leyla Okhai, a coach, mediator, inclusion and wellbeing practitioner with over seventeen years’ of experience. Leyla is also an award winning Podcaster, winning the Best Diversity & Inclusion Podcast category in the 2021 awards.

Leyla is a former Head of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Centre at Imperial College London. She has been a senior leader and understands what it’s like to navigate this tightrope. As the CEO of Diverse Minds Leyla has worked with organisations such as ASOS, Fartech, Science Museum Group, International Rescue Committee, JKR Global, Mother London, North East London NHS Trust, Tetra Tech Europe, and the University of London to name a few to improve mental health and wellbeing. Leyla also coaches individuals on a 1-2-1 basis.

 

LINDSAY PADILLA

Dr. Lindsay Padilla is an ex-community college professor who accidentally started a business while on the tenure track. Now, as the CEO and co-founder of the Hello Audio software, which takes your content and creates private audio feeds to make learning on the go much easier for your people, Lindsay challenges online industry norms of unfinished courses and unconsumed content with her product. All of her business ideas were born out of her tenure-track years teaching adults online at a community college, the ridiculous amount of learning she's done in all things education, and the years spent growing her course creation business online.

Hello Audio 🎧⚡️is an audio hosting platform for coaches, course creators, and influencers that delivers private feeds of their content so customers can listen on the go in the podcast player of their choice.

 

SARA MOSELEY

Sara’s all about ‘Making SHIFT Happen’! She helps brilliant high achievers who are stuck, bored or coasting in their current life and business SHIFT into the next chapter of their lives and business. Sara’s enthusiasm for helping others make the most of the online business opportunities so readily available today overflows through her first podcast, “The Sara Moseley Show - The Podcast for unapologetically ambitious online business owners” but ever-evolving and shifting herself following some major changes in her own life and business she is also excited her be launching her new podcast “Making SHIFT Happen” in Feb, also be packed with great interviews, shared insights and experiences, fun chats and practical advice.

 

LIAM HEFFERNAN

Liam is an award-winning radio and podcast producer, and an executive for the Hospital Broadcasting Association. He has over a decade of experience in broadcast media across the voluntary, BBC, and commercial sectors. He also holds a masters degree in American Studies, specialising in the Oscars, and in his spare time, you would usually find him with his wife and two dogs on their sofa!

 

MARCIA HYLTON

Marcia Hylton is an APC accredited International Coach, NLP and timeline practitioner specialising in trauma recovery and emotional resilience after narcissistic abuse and other toxic relationships.

As a recovery coach, Marcia draws not only on her specialist coaching skills but also on her experience as a survivor of domestic and narcissistic abuse.

Marcia has over 30 years in healthcare and education industry as an advanced medical practitioner and lecturer and has experience promoting holistic health with special interest in women’s mental and emotional health through community education.

Her journey now is to assist women find their way back to themselves with tools and strategies to guide them towards their own transformation and healing.

 

DAVINA SCHONLE

Davina Schonle is an entrepreneur, business consultant, and strategic advisor. She is the CEO & Founder of S2C (Selling Into Corporates), founder/co-founder of 2 other companies and Director of a CIC.

She advises B2B companies globally on business strategy, commercial growth plans and B2B sales processes. She has 15 years corporate experience in leadership roles before becoming an entrepreneur which she was born to do.

Her company S2C (Selling Into Corporates) helps coaches, consultants and trainers to sell their services into corporates and get bigger corporate deals. She founded this company because she saw how many small business owners were struggling to get corporate deals and saw her business network struggling with issues they could help with. S2C teaches strategic selling based on your personality type and long term goals.

 

LYNSAY ANNE GOULD

Lynsay is a Podcast & Business Coach with over 20 years of experience as an, award winning trainer, coach and mentor. She runs a successful podcast production company, The Podcast Boutique, and is the founder of the Podcasting for Business Awards.

She hosts the top ranking show, Podcasting for Business, and has helped hundreds of clients & students to launch successful shows, many of which reaching to top of the podcast charts and enjoy global success.

Lynsay helps entrepreneurs and brands to start podcasts to help them grow their businesses and have a bigger impact.

In particular, Lynsay is passionate about getting more female voices heard through the growing media of podcasting. Lynsay lives in the North West of England with her husband, two daughters and a gazillion pets!
